This program is designed to help Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses learn more about Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. Dementia is one condition that strikes fear in probably more people even than heart disease, cancer or any other disease. The possibility of not only losing your memory, but in fact, losing yourself is a frightening thought. Can we prevent or reverse memory loss or dementia? What causes the various forms of dementia? Modern science is moving at a rapid pace to discover causes of dementia and why it occurs. The problems associated with caring for the person with a dementia is ongoing and leads to many problems for care givers. The cost of caring for the dementia patient is also ongoing and is one that can only rise.
